American Beauty

Hi all! Sorry for my lack of writing, I’ve been sunning it up in Los Angeles and Las Vegas and it was insane! As sad as I am about being back home, I brought lots of things (which always makes a girl happy) and this post is all about a few beauty buys I managed to snag out there.

Origins Clear Improvement Clay Mask and the Drink Up Intensive Mask
In one word, amazing!  Definitely a set to invest in. The clay mask works best on clogged pores cleaning the skin of debris and giving you a deep clean. It doesn't take long to apply and it sets within 4-5 minutes. After, my face felt radiant and fresh. I suffer with dry patches so I was worried that it might make it worse but I have been very happy with the results.

The drink up intensive mask is used overnight. I've been using it after the clay mask twice a week and have been replacing it as my moisturizer for the night. It has reduced the dry patches significantly on my skin, which has helped when applying my foundation. Very effective! If you’re over in the States these are worth picking up, $23.00 in Sephora while they’re £23.00 over here.

EOS Lip Balm
I've wanted to get my hands on these for ages and they were well worth the wait. I picked them up at Kitson in Los Angeles in 5 different flavours. Very moisturising and the packaging is super cute too. I got them for $5.00 but you can pick them up from this website for £7.00+pp http://www.cutecosmetics.co.uk/eos-45-c.asp

Clinique Chubby Sticks
A staple in my makeup bag since it came out.  The lip balm tints range from subtle to intense with a range of colours. My absolute favourite is Oversized Orange with Curviest Caramel and Roomiest Rose in the intense range coming a close second. They’re much cheaper over in outlets in the States. My sister and I found them for $12.00, while over here they come up to £17.00.

Smashbox Photo Finish Primer
Why haven’t I listened to everyone and used a primer? I only started wearing foundation this year and have been told time and time again that primer does wonders. So while I was rummaging around Sephora (which honestly is a God send) I found a little travel size pore-fessional from Benefit and Smashbox’s photo finish primer. I chose Smashbox as the sales assistant informed me that it works better on skin which isn't prone to acne; however Benefit is beneficial for anyone wanting a heavier coverage.

Formula X Dryer
So handy! Manages to dry your nails within a minute and prevents any dents, not bad for $14.00! Have a look at their nail polish range too on here http://www.formulax.com/

Facial Cleansing Brush
Sephora has a little section full of their own brand for those little things we need around our dressing tables. I picked up this brush to see if it makes a difference to my dry patches (yes I’m obsessed with the dry patches people!). Still waiting to test it out but the bristles are firm and not bad for $8.00. If you really want to splurge think about investing in an electronic facial cleanser.

So there you have it, a little run down on a few beauty products. Let me know how you feel about any alternative products. Hope the price differences have given you a excuse to visit Los Angeles or Vegas for a quick trip away.
